This is apparently a common thing among people who do web work. They spend all day working on websites, and then come home and, in my case, continue doing contract work on websites, resulting in their own website being neglected. It happens.
I’m on vacation now and only need to work on contract work while visiting family so I can, for the first time in a long time, finally update my own website. I’m mostly going to be focusing on back-end stuff but I’ll probably be able to get a few new posts in here for the front page for the like… seven or so of you who read it. 🙂
No promises on how often I’ll be able to keep this up, but the goal is to pick up fewer contracts in the new year so I can focus on my own stuff more. Not that I’m complaining. I do love it when people want to give me money for my work and some of the stuff I’ve been working on is super interesting and challenging in good ways, but time management has never been my strong point and I’m needing to ensure I have time to work on the book that I have coming out.
Oh yes… there is that… there’s a book coming out! And not just one story in an anthology, but a whole book of just me! That’s been a goal for a long time and I’m super excited about it. I’ll write more about that on here when it’s less nebulous and has more specific attributes (like a confirmed title). But I’ve signed a contract and it will be a thing.
